Bio: 
Melissa has spent over 20 years working in public health, including 7 years an the HIV Prevention Director for the Tennessee Department of Health. Melissa was Principal Investigator (PI) and Project Director for more than $42 million in federal HIV prevention grant programs to further efforts in Tennessee to end the HIV epidemic. These programs included establishing and expanding state-wide point-of-care HIV testing Programs.

 

Melissa graduated the Kentucky Public Health Leadership Institute where she worked in public health at the Markey Cancer Center. Melissa has an M.A. in Psychology from Marshall University in Huntington, WV.

This webinar will identify transformative approaches to increasing HIV testing. After viewing this webinar, attendees should be able to:

  • explain the importance of point-of-care testing and its ability to positively impact linkage to care and prevention of disease spread
  • describe three practices that can enhance HIV testing in clinical settings
  • describe two strategies that can bring HIV testing to outreach and other non-clinical settings
